Cultivating leaders through discipleship, agriculture, and the transforming power of the gospel.
José "Joseph" Nogueira serves as Hope of a Nation's Operations Director in Mozambique, where he oversees the ministry's day-to-day operations while also managing the farm, our agricultural ministry and discipleship center. He is passionate about seeing lives transformed through the gospel and believes practical ministry and biblical discipleship go hand in hand.
Long before joining Hope of a Nation, Joseph had a heart for serving others. He has faithfully invested in ministry through his local church for many years, taking every opportunity to disciple, encourage, and share the love of Christ. That same passion continues to shape every aspect of his work today.
Joseph initially joined Hope of a Nation as Farm Manager and played an instrumental role in finding the land and helping develop it into a place that not only provides food and income but also serves as a center for discipleship and community outreach. During former Operations Director and ministry co-founder Abel Faz-Ver's illness, Joseph faithfully stepped into increasing leadership responsibilities before being appointed Operations Director. Today, he carries forward the ministry's work while building upon the strong foundation Abel helped establish.
Joseph has pursued a wide range of education and vocational training that uniquely equips him for ministry leadership. He has a four-year degree in Human Resource Management, as well as a certificate in administration. He also graduated from Teen Missions' three year Bible School in Mozambique, completed discipleship training through Youth With A Mission (YWAM), and studied music in South Africa.
His practical training includes laboratory science in Malawi, entrepreneurship, computer fundamentals, workplace safety, and he is currently completing his final year of law school in Mozambique. This diverse background enables him to lead both strategically and practically while mentoring others.
Before joining Hope of a Nation, Joseph served in a variety of leadership and administrative roles that strengthened his organizational and ministry experience. His background includes serving as a community center director, orphanage director, English translator, laboratory technician, procurement assistant, logistics and stock manager, administrative professional, and human resources representative across several organizations in Mozambique.
Today, Joseph provides leadership across Hope of a Nation's ministry in Mozambique while continuing to manage the daily operations of the farm. He also disciples children, young adults, and members of the surrounding community, believing that lasting transformation happens when people experience both the practical love of Christ and the truth of God's Word.
One of Joseph's greatest desires is to see the farm become a place where young people are discipled, equipped, and sent out to impact their communities for Christ. As Hope of a Nation prepares to launch youth discipleship camps on the farm, he looks forward to seeing a dream God placed on his heart become a reality, raising up a new generation of servant leaders who will transform their nation through the love of Jesus Christ.
