Valerie realizes how blessed she is to have been raised in a Christian home. She gave her heart to Jesus at the tender young age of six and counts that decision as the best in her life! She grew up in an Assemblies of God church in San Jose, CA where she was very involved in the youth group, enjoyed being part of the youth choir that toured each year, and she participated in the Voices of Bethel before she left San Jose to attend Bible School in Sacramento, CA where she met her husband, Anthony. They have been serving Jesus together since being married in 1993.
Valerie is the granddaughter of missionaries to the island of Guam where her mother actually graduated from high school. She is the niece of missionaries originally to Truk, which is in the central Pacific, before then moving over to serve the Marshall Islands. Valerie herself is grateful to have been able to take a couple mission trips into Tecate, Mexico when her youth pastor would take a team to an orphanage to share Christmas with the children. You can say that missions is in her blood! In 1997 she had the opportunity to join the staff at Christ for all Nations (CfaN), the Ministry of Reinhard Bonnke. She served there for a little over a year and a half before they moved their US office to Florida. She was asked to make the move with them, but it wasn't time for her and Anthony to leave California... yet.
Valerie was hired to be the head of the secretarial pool at CfaN; however, she ended up being the only secretary and served four department heads and assisted elsewhere as needed. She worked for 20+ years in the medical field as an administrative assistant and medical transcriptionist, and she served for 13 years managing a diagnostic sleep lab in their hometown of Grass Valley, CA.
Anthony and Valerie began to feel the draw to move out of CA in early 2021 and made the leap, landing in Branson, MO in November of 2021. They had been working closely with an orphanage/school in Uganda caring for over 600 children, so they are very excited to see how God is fitting the puzzle pieces together to link arms with Hope of a Nation to reach and care for these beautiful children and families in Africa.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him! ~Psalm 34:8
