This year, Hope of a Nation is preparing to launch something deeply needed in Mozambique — a three-day discipleship camp for young men ages 12–18, hosted on our ministry farm.
These camps are not simply events. They are intentional investments into the next generation.
We plan to host up to 40 teenage boys at a time, with five dedicated Christian counselors present throughout the entire camp. Each camp will be carefully structured, beginning in the morning and continuing through the evening, combining biblical teaching, worship, prayer, mentorship, farming skills, team building, and physical activity.
Our heart is simple:
To preach Christ. To teach Christ. To disciple young men. To help them become strong Christian men, faithful husbands, responsible fathers, and godly leaders who recognize Christ as King.
Mozambique, like many nations, faces a growing crisis of fatherlessness, not only because of death but also because of abandonment that happens far too often. Many boys grow up without consistent guidance, biblical instruction, or a godly example of what manhood should look like. Without intentional investment, young men can easily drift without direction, confidence, or spiritual stability.
At the same time, many young believers lack deep discipleship. They may know about Christ, yet have never been grounded in Scripture, never been personally mentored, and never been shown how to build their lives on a strong and secure biblical foundation. Early discipleship is critical. When young Christians are firmly rooted in truth, they are better prepared to stand strong in faith, resist cultural pressures, and lead others with integrity.
These camps are designed to meet both needs. We want to help establish a solid spiritual foundation during the formative teenage years. We want to model biblical manhood in practical ways. We want to teach responsibility, discipline, humility, and servant leadership through both instruction and example.
By pouring into these young men now, we are not only impacting individuals. We are strengthening future marriages, future families, and future churches. When a young man understands his identity in Christ and embraces his responsibility before God, the ripple effects can last for generations.
This is Christian discipleship camp, and because of its focused nature:
Each camper must complete an application.
A pastor’s recommendation is required.
Campers must already have a foundational Christian testimony.
This ensures the camp remains spiritually focused, safe, and fruitful.
These three days will include:
Morning exercise and team-building activities
Biblical teaching in small-group, interactive settings
Worship and prayer
Mentorship from pastors and Christian leaders
Hands-on farming instruction
Practical lessons in responsibility and leadership
Because the camp is hosted on our working ministry farm, the young men will also:
Learn crop planting and cultivation
Be introduced to our goat, chicken, and fish projects
Possibly plant a small section of produce themselves
Imagine the impact of a young man planting seeds in the soil — then later returning to see the growth from what he planted. It becomes a living biblical illustration:
Plant good seed. Nurture it. Trust God for the increase.
Beyond the spiritual lesson, these are practical skills that can help them one day provide for their families.
Before we can host our first camp in 2026, several improvements are necessary on the farm.
We need to construct a covered, open-sided building that will serve as:
The camp’s teaching space
A prayer and worship area
A future meeting place for pastors
A gathering space for feeding programs
A discipleship and seminar venue
This structure will serve the ministry year-round, not only during youth camp.
A simple but durable covered kitchen area is needed for preparing large quantities of food in traditional cooking pots over open fire; the normal and practical method for this region.
We must:
Install a septic system
Build an initial toilet and shower structure
Prepare for future permanent facilities
These improvements will not only serve the youth camps but will also benefit farm workers, visiting pastors, and future ministry activities.
To host up to 40 young men, we must purchase:
10 large tents for housing campers
Chairs and teaching supplies
Cooking equipment
Food staples (rice, maize flour, oil)
Farming tools (hoes, machetes, rakes, wheelbarrows) they will use
A 500-liter water tank fro drinking water
Notebooks and pens for each camper
Hygiene materials
Transportation and logistics support
The estimated cost to prepare for the first camp, including equipment, supplies, tools, construction, and logistics, is:
(Not including the septic system, which is still being quoted.)
This amount allows us to:
Build the necessary structures
Equip the farm for training
House and feed 40 youth and 10 facilitators
Provide discipleship materials
Lay the foundation for quarterly camps, Lord willing
Our prayer is to host these camps quarterly, as the Lord provides. The initial investment will establish infrastructure that will serve the ministry for many years to come.
When you give, you are not funding an event. You are helping:
Restore biblical manhood
Strengthen future families
Combat fatherlessness
Raise up Christ-centered leaders
Plant seeds — both in the soil and in hearts
We cannot begin without partners.
Your gift today helps us take the first step toward discipling young men in Mozambique and equipping them to stand firm in Christ for the rest of their lives.
If the Lord leads you to give, know that you are investing in eternal fruit.
