Our farm is located in Dondo, which is in the central part of Mozambique and in the province of Sofala. Last month, a representative from the Sofala Department of Agriculture had come to our farm because she had been hearing great things about it from others in town. She wanted to send students to our farm to learn from our team as part of an agricultural initiative they are doing to teach young people. Above is a photo of the first students they sent to begin learning on our farm. We’re still so amazed at how God is bringing the resources, the connections, and even the students to make the teaching part of our farm a reality!
In other exciting news... after 3 months of waiting, we have finally begun raising our first 500 chickens! The agreement for our partnership with Young Africa was finalized on Friday, September 15th. They are starting us out with 3 of the 6 chicken houses, but we are hoping to be able to utilize all 6 houses after the first of the year. While not having all houses immediately accessible does slow our plans down a bit, we know God is in control, and we trust that he has a reason for that delay. Please pray for healthy vibrant chickens, more God-connections when it comes to selling them, and attentive Young Africa students who are excited to learn about raising chickens from our team!
