In August, during our unforgettable time in Africa, Jason and I hosted a grand celebration with our Mozambican operations team to mark the 5th anniversary of Hope of a Nation as an official organization! The event took place on our picturesque farm in Dondo, Mozambique, under a stunning African grass canopy, graciously provided by one of our cherished partnering families. For many of our teammates, it was a momentous occasion as they met each other in person for the first time, having worked tirelessly in different programs across various cities and provinces. The atmosphere was filled with joy, camaraderie, and heartfelt gratitude for the incredible work God has done through us.

No celebration is complete without a feast! We enjoyed traditional Mozambican cuisine, cooked over an open fire right on the farm. The meal featured fresh pigeon peas, carrots, and farm-raised chicken—all lovingly grown and raised by our dedicated team. Afterwards, we enjoyed a beautifully decorated and delicious cake honoring our collective milestone! We shared moments of prayer, toured the farm, and explored the numerous projects and educational opportunities flourishing there.

Reflecting on our journey, it’s easy to overlook the profound impact our small organization has made over the past five years. Yet, for those whose lives have been touched, the difference is unforgettable. From our founding year to the end of year four, we served 19,236 meals to children through our ministry program and provided over 11,000 pounds of food to the orphans we support. Our dedicated medical team attended to over 2,000 patients, saving more than 175 lives. Eight students completed university or professional development training, and twelve interns received hands-on agricultural training on our farm. We also distributed over 1,100 Bibles to pastors and congregants in need, and Jason and I had the privilege of speaking at numerous churches and conferences throughout Mozambique.

We cannot overlook the transformation in the lives of our teammates, whose dedication and passion have been instrumental in our success. We are profoundly grateful for every team member in Mozambique and the U.S., and for every person who has partnered with us financially, in prayer, or as a volunteer. Your support has been the catalyst for changing countless lives. Thank you, from the depths of our hearts!
