Looking Ahead to Our Chicken Layer Project

To Complete Our Poultry Life-Cycle

The success of the hatchery project has demonstrated what is possible when vision, training, and sustainability work together. What began as a step of faith is now a functioning operation that produces income, supports local farmers, and strengthens the long term stability of Hope of a Nation in Mozambique.

Now we are preparing for the next critical step.

To complete the poultry life cycle and secure the future of this initiative, Hope of a Nation is launching the Chicken Layer Project.

At present, the hatchery depends on third party suppliers for fertilized eggs. While this has allowed production to begin, it also creates vulnerability. Egg shortages and delivery delays are common. When supply is interrupted, incubation schedules are disrupted. When incubation is delayed, income is delayed. These interruptions limit growth and restrict the full potential of the project and the ministry it supports.

The Chicken Layer Project is designed to remove that vulnerability.

By raising laying hens on site, the farm will be able to produce fertilized eggs consistently and reliably. Instead of depending on outside suppliers, we will control the full production cycle from egg to chick to market.

This allows the ministry to:

  • Produce its own fertilized eggs year round
  • Incubate and hatch without interruption
  • Raise broilers or sell chicks to local farmers
  • Reduce operating costs and increase long term sustainability

This project builds directly on what God has already established. One chicken house is fully constructed and operational. A second house is partially completed and, once finished, will allow the existing infrastructure to serve both the hatchery and the layer operation. With mature laying hens in place, egg production can begin immediately and expand steadily over time.

The impact extends far beyond poultry.

Producing eggs internally strengthens financial stability, protects the farm from supply chain disruptions, and increases income that directly supports ministry efforts. A stronger agricultural foundation allows leadership to focus on what matters most: discipling young people, supporting orphaned children, expanding medical outreach, and serving communities throughout Mozambique.

This is not simply a farm expansion. It is a strategic step toward sustainable ministry.

How You Can Help

Completing the Chicken Layer Project requires partners who believe in sustainable ministry and long-term impact. Funding is needed to:

  • Finish construction of the second chicken house
  • Outfit the layer facility with proper nesting, feeding, and watering systems
  • Purchase mature laying hens and roosters to begin production

Your partnership will help secure a consistent egg supply, strengthen long term revenue, and increase the ministry’s ability to serve with stability and confidence.
